The Bathgate Hills Venture is very excited to announce that we have been awarded funding from The Year of Stories and we will be bringing “Stories of the Bathgate Hills: a Celebration of the Voices of People and Place” to various locations across Bathgate, Linlithgow and Torphichen on 9th October 2022.
This day of storytelling will include a children’s storytelling competition, a plant walk in the hills, storytelling workshops, an exhibition in the Burgh Halls in Linlithgow, and a storytelling evening at the Regal in Bathgate.
This is an excellent opportunity to reveal the stories of the Bathgate Hills in their myriad forms. From the stories of the past – both mythic and historical – to the stories of the present, told through the voices of all generations, storytelling is something to be celebrated and treasured. The Bathgate Hills have so much to offer, and this will be a wonderful opportunity to explore the art of storytelling within our own landscape.
We’d love to include many individuals and groups from around the hills in this project. If you are keen to be involved you can contact us here.
This event has been supported by the Year of Stories 2022 Community Stories Fund. This fund is being delivered in partnership between VisitScotland and Museums Galleries Scotland with support from National Lottery Heritage Fund thanks to National Lottery players.
